Exporting Repository Objects from the ES BuilderLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

The procedure described here explains how you export objects from the ES Repository with the ES Builder and include them in a CTS transport request. If you do not want to include objects from other tools in the same transport request, set the WBO_REL_REQ_STRATEGY parameter to Auto. The transport request that belongs to the file export is then immediately released after the export from the ES Builder.

Prerequisites
  • You have activated all the objects you want to export from the Integration Directory.
  • To view details of the objects, such as ObjectID, ObjectType, ObjectName, and so on, in the change list, you have enabled the aii property com.sap.aii.ib.core.cts.enablePiecelist. For more information about object list, see Using Object Lists.
  • The prerequisites specified in Transporting Objects also apply here.
Procedure

Exporting Repository Objects Using the Transport Wizard

  1. Call the ES Builder.
  2. Choose Tools → Design Objects to call the transport wizard.
  3. In the first step, choose the software component version that you want to transport the design objects for, choose the Transport Using CTS mode and specify a name for the transport list.
  4. In the second step, follow the instructions to restrict the object set.
  5. If no CTS transport request appears in step 3, then no standard request has been created for this system yet. To create a request in the Transport Organizer, or to define an existing request as the default, choose Create or Select Request in Transport Organizer(more information: Creating Transport Requests)
  6. To display newly created standard requests, refresh the Wizard view in step 3.
  7. Choose Finish to start the export.

Exporting Change List Repository Objects

  1. Call the ES Builder.
  2. Switch to the Change List tab page. Check whether you have selected the transportable check box for the filter for change lists. Otherwise your activated change list will not be displayed on the tab page.
  3. Check whether a standard transport request has been created for your transport in CTS (more information: Creating Transport Requests)
  4. Call the context menu for Release CTS Transport for the change list you want to transport.
Result

You have included your objects in a transport request for CTS. If the automatic release of requests is not activated for your system (if WBO_REL_REQ_STRATEGY is set to Manual), then you must still release your request in CTS to be able to transport it.
