In the Settings view, you can schedule data collectors for specific systems and monitor scheduling.

This is how the system collects the data that you can later analyze.

You can schedule the following data collectors for each system:

  • SM_CCL: OBJECTS_<SID>_<installation number>: Collects the custom objects. Switches to transaction SM37. Ensure you schedule this job so that the system collects the data periodically.

  • SM_CCL: QUALITY_<SID>_<installation number>: Collects data from the Code Inspector. If you want to obtain data from the Code Inspector, schedule this job.

  • The following jobs specify when the system collects the objects. You can schedule one or more of the following jobs:

    • SM_CCL: STATM_<SID>_<installation number>: Collects the monthly usage (for workload data from transaction ST03N only).

    • SM_CCL: STATW_<SID>_<installation number>: Collects the weekly usage (for workload data from transaction ST03N only).

    • SM_CCL: UPL_<SID>_<installation number>: Collects the daily usage (SAP Netweaver Usage Procedure Logging). Also collects custom objects called dynamically.

Prerequisites

  • You have created at least one solution with logical components and systems.

  • You have configured the collectors as part of the Customizing project.

  • You have configured EarlyWatch Alert for the systems. The data collectors read the usage statistics from the EarlyWatch Alert download.

  • A library definition is created as the active library during the technical implementation.

Procedure

Display Systems for a Solution
  • Specify a solution. To display the solutions for all available systems, enter All Solutions.

All systems for the selected solution are displayed.

A system can have one of the following statuses:

Green LED indicator (Green LED indicator)

All data collectors are scheduled and there are no errors.

Yellow LED indicator (Yellow LED indicator)

At least one data collector is not yet scheduled.

Red LED indicator (Red LED indicator)

At least one data collector was terminated.

Specify the Data Extraction Scope for a System
  1. Select a system.

  2. Specify which objects the system collects:

    • If you want the extractor to extract all data, choose Maintain Lead System. All attributes found for the object that cannot be maintained are overwritten.

    • If you want the extractor to only record new custom objects and changes to existing custom objects, deselect Maintain Lead System.

    • If you want the extractor to also extract local objects ($TMP), choose Local Objects. This setting is particularly useful in production systems, since it ensures that local objects in these systems are also included.

    • If you do not want the extractor to extract local objects, deselect Local Objects. This setting is particularly useful in development systems, since it ensures that local objects in these systems are not included.

Schedule a Data Collector
  1. Select a system.

The data collectors for this system are displayed in the details.

A data collector can have one of the following statuses:

Green LED indicator (Green LED indicator)

The data collector is scheduled and there are no errors.

Yellow LED indicator (Yellow LED indicator)

The data collector is not yet scheduled.

Red LED indicator (Red LED indicator)

    The data collector was terminated.

    • Job Name: All job names starting with SM_CCL:.

    • Report Name: Name of the program

    • Start Date: Date of the next scheduled job

  2. Select a data extractor.

  3. Choose Schedule Job.

The data collector is scheduled automatically for the next possible date.

Note Note

To delete a scheduled job, click on the job name. This calls transaction SM37.

End of the note.
Precisely Schedule a Data Collector

Sometimes the time at which data extraction runs is important, particularly when other collector runs need to be considered. You can therefore schedule a data extraction job for a specific time:

  • In the detail view, select a collector in the Job Name column.

This calls transaction SM37, where you can then schedule the job for a precise time and with more details.

Note Note

Use transaction SM37, for example, to:

  • Display the job settings

  • Schedule a job

  • Delete a job

End of the note.
