In the Objects view, you can display all custom objects (and their attributes) in the active library. The data collectors have collected the custom objects during the scheduled jobs. You can filter and search the list by certain criteria.

Depending on your role, you can also create, change, and delete the owner and contract objects in this view. You can edit these objects since they are marked as editable in the Editable column under   Library Definition   Detail View   Objects tab page  .

You can assign the custom objects to your data. This allows you to monitor your data and derive various activities from it.

Prerequisites

  • A library definition was configured as the active library during the technical implementation.

  • A BW system was integrated and configured as part of the Customizing project.

Procedure

The date information in this view indicates when the object was changed in the library and not when it was created as a custom object.

Display Objects with Details

This view displays all objects in the active library.

Objects in the object table with object class CustomCodeDuplicates are duplicates of CustomCodeObjects with the same name that exist in at least one other system.

To restrict the selection of objects, proceed as follows:

  • Filter objects

    1. Expand Filter Objects by.

    2. Enter the search criteria.

    3. Choose Find.

The objects are displayed based on the search criteria.

  • Refine search

    1. Expand Search Objects with Attributes.

    2. Enter the search criteria.

    3. Choose Find.

The objects are displayed based on the search criteria.

The detail view shows the attributes (Standard Attributes tab page) already created in the library definition and the manually assigned attributes and reference attributes (Maintainable Attributes tab page). A reference assigns an object (owner or contract) to a custom object.

To display object details, proceed as follows:

  • Select the object.

The detail view opens beneath the object view.

Display All Objects

If you have set filters in this view, or have restricted the number of objects in the search, not all objects are displayed. Objects are still filtered out even if you call this view using a link in the overview. You can reset the filters.

To display all objects in the active library, proceed as follows:

  1. Expand Filter Objects by or Search Objects with Attributes.

  2. Delete the search criteria.

  3. Choose Find.

All objects in the active library are displayed.

To create a contract, proceed as follows:

  1. Choose Create Contract.

    A dialog box appears.

  2. Enter data as required.

  3. Save your entries.

The contract is created. You can now assign the contract to custom objects.

End of the note.
Edit Attributes

  2. Select the object.
