Component BOM A list of material planning objects (MPOs) (or materials described by user-defined texts) that are assigned to a different MPO as components.
Components represent equipment that is a fixed part of the MPO to which it belongs but that is managed individually in the form of MPOs for planning reasons. The pieces of equipment are grouped to form a component BOM and assigned to an MPO. This enables you to map alternative component BOMs.
Technically, component BOMs are implemented as iPPE alternatives of type S_DFCMP. They are assigned to MPOs by means of iPPE relationships of type S_DFBOM.
Component BOMs have their own status but no validity period.
Component BOMs can have the following statuses:
Planned
,
Requested
,
Approved
,
Active
,
Obsolete
, and
Rejected
. Only one component BOM of an MPO can have the status
Approved
at any one time. See also

.
You can assign properties for component BOMs using the following tab pages and fields/field groups in the application
