  Hierarchy Generation

Use

After force elements have been activated, you generate the CO standard hierarchy to complete the integration with the processes of the Controlling component.

Prerequisites

You have generated the required CO master data .

In the Implementation Guide (IMG) under Start of the navigation path Defense Forces & Public Security Next navigation step Accounting Next navigation step CO Hierarchy Generation Next navigation step Settings, you have defined the required rules for automatic hierarchy generation for each controlling area End of the navigation path .

You have familiarized yourself with the underlying standard reports RKEOGEN1, RKEOGEN2, and RKEOGEN3.

If necessary, you have used the /ISDFPS/ACCHIERSET report to generate the top nodes of the cost center or profit center hierarchy. This may be necessary in the following cases:

  • You have already defined a top node in the central system using the Customizing settings for Controlling and you want to change it.

  • When a decentralized system was set up, the top nodes for the profit center and cost center standard hierarchy of the central system were copied when the Customizing settings were copied and must now be replaced with the top nodes of the decentralized system. This adjustment is made when the system is set up using Solution Manager.

Features

Standard Hierarchy

You use the Generate CO Standard Hierarchy from Organizational Structure application (transaction /ISDFPS/ACCHIERGEN) to completely rebuild the CO standard hierarchy based on the basic organizational structure and the assignment of the force elements concerned to CO objects. During this, the system carries out the following actions:

  • The cost center groups and profit center groups that are defined using the rules for CO master data generation are generated.

  • The temporary assignments of cost centers and profit centers that were created during master data generation are replaced with valid assignments to individual or inherited groups (in accordance with generation rules).

Alternative Hierarchy

You can use the Generate CO Alternative Hierarchy from Organizational Structure application (transaction /ISDFPS/ACCHIERCOPY) to generate an additional, alternative hierarchy (identified by a suffix).

Example Example

You use alternative hierarchies, for example, to generate hierarchies before a future key date.

End of the example.

You can use the Replace CO Standard Hierarchy with CO Alternative Hierarchy application (transaction /ISDFPS/ACCHIERREST) to replace the previous standard hierarchy with an alternative hierarchy. This means that the previous standard hierarchy becomes the alternative hierarchy and is given a relevant suffix.

Activities

  • Standard Hierarchy

Schedule the application for standard hierarchy generation as a regular job .

You can also start the application manually:

    • To do so, go to the Implementation Guide (IMG) and choose: Start of the navigation path Defense Forces & Public Security Next navigation step Accounting Next navigation step CO Hierarchy Generation Next navigation step Generate/Replace Standard and Alternative Hierarchy End of the navigation path and see the Generate CO Standard Hierarchy from Organizational Structure section.

    • In the structure area of the Structures Workbench , choose: Start of the navigation path More Reports Next navigation step Generate CO Standard Hierarchy End of the navigation path to start the generation directly for a selected force element.

  • Alternative Hierarchy

In the Implementation Guide (IMG), under Start of the navigation path Defense Forces & Public Security Next navigation step Accounting Next navigation step CO Hierarchy Generation Next navigation step Generate/Replace Standard and Alternative Hierarchy End of the navigation path , you can call the applications and find more information about the following work steps:

    • Generate CO Alternative Hierarchy from Organizational Structure

    • Replace CO Standard Hierarchy with CO Alternative Hierarchy
