 Determination of Number Range Data

Use

Before you can check all the number ranges centrally, the current number range data from all the systems concerned must be available in the central checking system.

The checking system automatically receives the current data during the synchronization process (table /ISDFPS/NRIV_UPD). This data is copied to table /ISDFPS/NRIV. You can also determine number range data manually online (for example, when you include a new system in the system group).

Prerequisites

You have defined which systems are to be considered in the check and which global number ranges you want to check.

Features

You can update the data in table /ISDFPS/NRIV manually using the Central Number Range Check application (transaction /ISDFPS/GNR_CHECK).

The following selection fields are available:

  • Selection of Systems Whose Number Range Data Is Initially Activated Centrally

    • Logical Systems

You specify which systems you want to include. If you do not enter a value, all systems are included that are defined in Customizing to undergo the number range check.

    • Data Comparison

If you want to update the data, select this option.

    • Only Object Listed Below

If you want to include only selected number ranges, select this option.

    • Selection of Number Ranges for Validation

      • Logical Systems

        Specify the required systems.

      • NR Object Name

Specify the required number range objects.

      • Also Valid. External Intervals

Specify whether you also want to include external intervals.

Activities

To determine current number range data manually, complete the following steps:

  1. Choose the Central Number Range Check application (transaction /ISDFPS/GNR_CHECK).

  2. Enter the selection values.

  3. Select the Data Comparison indicator.

  4. Choose Get and Include Data .

The system displays a log containing messages about unsuccessful attempts to establish a connection to a system, for example, or about changes made to number range settings in the systems concerned.
