 Searching for Force Elements

Prerequisites

You are in the Structures Workbench .

Searching for Force Elements

  1. Choose Load Force Element .

  2. Choose one of the following search methods:

    1. In the Search Term field, enter the name or the object ID of the object you are searching for and choose Continue .

    2. Choose Structure Search and search for the required object:

      1. In the main structure tree

      2. In the list of unrelated objects

        To switch between the two options, choose Unrelated Objects/Display Structure .

    3. In the Search Term field, use input help and then choose Other Search Help to select one of the options.

  3. Select the required object.

You can call up the objects that you recently displayed or edited directly by choosing Most Recently Loaded Objects .

If a structure is already displayed in the structure area, you can select a lower-level force element and select it as the new access node by choosing Load As New Root Object .

Searching in a Structure

There are various ways of navigating within a displayed structure and searching for force elements:

  • To search for the required object in the current structure using a search term, choose Find Force Element .

  • To display the next highest hierarchy level of the current structure and its assigned objects, choose One Level Up .

  • To view a structure branch and its objects, select a force element and choose Expand .

Extended Search

You can use the extended search function to search for force elements by specifying certain properties.

  1. Choose Search for Force Element .

  2. Enter the required search criteria on the tab pages. The following tab pages are available:

    • Force Element

      Search by force element and all lower-level force elements

    • Reference Force Element

      Search by assigned reference force elements

    • Tasks

      Search by assigned tasks

    • Readiness

      Search by readiness

    • Level of Readiness

      Search by the level of readiness regarding personnel, material, and training

    • Material

      Search by directly assigned material planning objects

    • Address

      Search by selected addresses

    • Position

      Search by assigned positions

    • Job

      Search by jobs that are indirectly assigned by positions

      To search for the search criteria, choose <Property> Selection . The selected values are displayed in the Search Criteria table.

      A symbol indicates tab pages on which you have entered search criteria.

      If you enter several values on a tab page, the system uses the OR operator.

  3. Specify the values for your search. If required, set the Exclude from Selection indicator to exclude tab pages from the search.

    If you include more than one tab page in a search, the system links the value with the operator AND.

  4. Choose Find.

  5. The force elements found are displayed as a table with the following properties:

    • Force Element/Object ID

      The name and object ID of the selected force element.

    • Personnel

      The level of readiness of personnel (see also classification ).

    • Material

      The level of readiness of material (see also classification ).

    • Training

      The level of readiness regarding the training status (see also classification ).

    • Readiness

      Indicates how quickly the force element should be ready for action (see also Classification (Infotype 1951) ).

  6. You can double-click a hit. The force element is displayed in the structure area of the Structures Workbench and you can display or edit it.

    You can copy a hit to the structure area using drag and drop, where you can link or copy the force element.
