 Creating PIRs Without References

Procedure

  1. To create a planned independent requirement without a reference, choose Start of the navigation path Logistics Next navigation step Production Next navigation step Production Planning Next navigation step Demand Management Next navigation step Planned Independent Requirements Next navigation step Create End of the navigation path .

    Note Note

In the User Parameters you can enter values, such as default values for the requirements that are to be created.

    See Maintaining Requirements Parameters .

    End of the note.

The system displays the initial screen for maintaining planned independent requirements.

  2. Enter the material number, the name of the product group or the requirements plan.

  3. Enter the plant (see Material Requirements Planning ).

  4. Enter the version and choose ( Continue ).

The system creates the planned independent requirements with this version number.

The system displays the screen where you can maintain planned independent requirements.

  5. Check the parameters and change them if necessary.

  6. Check the period indicator, and if necessary, change it.

  7. Enter the requirements date and the planned quantity of the planned independent requirement.

  8. For more information about the procedure, see the following table:

    Function

    Procedure

Split the total planned independent requirement quantity across periods (on the planning table or schedule line tab page)

    See Splitting PIRs (Periodic Disaggregation)

Use the interactive forecast to determine the planning quantities

See Determining Planning Quantities Using the Material Forecast

Assign production versions to schedule lines

Choose Start of the navigation path Settings Next navigation step Production Version End of the navigation path .

    Assign BOM explosion numbers

Choose Start of the navigation path Settings Next navigation step BOM Explosion Number End of the navigation path .

Define that the planned independent requirement is to be consumed and not planned in the net requirements calculation

Select the field W/o MRP. Sales orders or customer requirements can consume the planned independent requirements. However, the requirements quantities do not cause stocking of the components. This procedure is useful for characteristics planning if the planned independent requirements are used to stock at assembly level.

Work with a configurable material for which usage probabilities are maintained
