The system forms lots using lot-sizing procedures; that is, it determines the number and procurement quantities of the receipts that should cover a requirement, taking account of production- or planning-technical conditions.
The following standard lot-sizing procedures are available:
For lot-for-lot order quantities, period lot-sizing, and the reorder point method the system considers the minimum lot size , the maximum lot size , and the rounding settings .
You can use the following heuristics to plan products with a standard lot-sizing procedure:
The standard heuristic SAP_PP_002 for
planning standard lots
(algorithm /SAPAPO/HEU_PLAN_STANDARDLOTS) and the standard heuristic SAP_PP_003 for
planning shortage quantities
(algorithm /SAPAPO/HEU_PLAN_DEFICITS) automatically use the standard lot-sizing procedure.
The standard heuristic for
planning standard lots in 3 horizons
SAP_PP_004 (algorithm /SAPAPO/HEU_PEGID_PERIODIC_LOT) can plan in up to 3 consecutive time segments (short, medium, and long term horizon) using various standard lot-sizing procedures.
You can also use standard lot-sizing procedures for the SNP-PP/DS Conversion .
To plan a product with another lot-sizing procedure, you use heuristics that form lot sizes according to a heuristic-specific procedure. For example, the standard heuristic SAP_PP_013
Groff procedure
(algorithm /SAPAPO/HEU_PART_PERIOD) attempts to form lots with optimum setup and storage costs. It takes account of the assembly scrap, the minimum lot size, the maximum lot size, and the rounding settings from the location product master.
If you create a receipt manually in interactive planning, the system does
not
take any
lot-sizing procedure
into account. It creates the receipt for the desired yield or purchase order quantity. If you want to plan a product with a lot-sizing procedure in interactive planning, you must start a heuristic with the desired lot-sizing procedure using
Product Heuristic
or
Variable Heuristic
.
