The standard heuristic SAP_PP_003 for
Planning shortage quantities
(algorithm /SAPAPO/HEU_PLAN_DEFICITS) and the
actions
, which should cover new or changed dependent requirements immediately, use one of the offsetting logics that differs from the standard net requirements calculation. This offsetting logic also uses
unfixed
PP/DS and SNP receipts in addition to the fixed receipts, if required.
The net requirements calculation has the requirements consume the fixed receipts. To do this, the net requirements calculation uses the Avoid Surpluses procedure.
If the net requirements calculation cannot cover all requirements with fixed receipts it carries out a second offsetting run in which it has the uncovered requirements consume the unfixed receipts. This results in uncovered requirements or surplus unfixed receipts.
In the heuristic for
planning shortage quantities
, the following heuristic settings determine further planning:
If you have set the
Plan Shortages
indicator in the heuristic settings, the heuristic executes a
procurement quantity calculation
for the uncovered requirements and creates receipts.
If you have set the
Reduce Surpluses
indicator in the heuristic settings, the heuristic deletes the surplus receipts.
In the actions for immediate coverage of dependent requirements, the system creates new receipts for uncovered requirements.
