This IT process describes the steps that are related to creating content for an external-facing portal.
Prerequisites
- You have completed the IT process step described in Configuring the External-Facing Portal .
- You are logged on to the portal as an administrator. The steps below show, in parentheses, who is responsible for performing each step.
- You have the necessary portal permissions to work with the portal objects you need to maintain.
- You have installed the usage type Developer Infrastructure (DI) for developing your own applications.
Process Flow
- Develop light content, by performing the following:
- Develop light content applications for use in the external-facing portal (developer).
- Deploy the applications to the portal (system administrator).
- Create content from the deployed content (content administrators).
For example, create roles, pages and iViews from the deployed light content applications. Content can also be created from out-of-the-box applications.
Result
Portal content for anonymous and registered users is now available in the external-facing portal.
