This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Selection Type "Hierarchy Level" ('H').  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

The following example is based on:

·        The simplified InfoCube (sales figures) containing characteristics COUNTRY and CUSTOMER as well as key figure SALES (see Selection Type "All Characteristic Values" (‘*’))

·        The following external hierarchy for the countries:

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

Example: Aggregate Country 'H' Level 2

·        Characteristic COUNTRY is used for compression on level 2 of the country hierarchy (Europe, America)

·        The characteristic CUSTOMER is not contained in the aggregate

This aggregate can be used in queries

·        That require sales for a node of the hierarchy on level 2 or higher, including queries that have the country hierarchy as presentation hierarchy in the drilldown and are not expanded deeper than level 2

·        That determine the total sum of the sales if:

-         The hierarchy does not have multiple leaves, in other words, each variant of a characteristic occurs only once in the hierarchy

-         Node "non-assigned" is not suppressed

The aggregate cannot be used if the third level of the hierarchy (Austria, Germany, USA) is required in a query.
