Use

Once you have inserted a chart in your report, you can define its properties.

Procedure

You define the chart’s properties in the Properties screen area. The following properties are offered:

Properties

Description

Data Providers

This property lists all data providers used in the report. You can assign one of these data providers to the chart.

Insert Data Provider

If you do not want to use any of the data providers listed under Data Providers for the chart, you can select a different one here.

Editing Charts

You can use this property to call Chart Designer. You can make further chart settings here. More information: Editing Charts

Result Visible

With this property you specify whether results are displayed in the chart or hidden.

In the default setting, this parameter is deactivated, and the totals rows and columns for the underlying data provider are not displayed. This allows you to suppress totals that might adversely affect the chart display without having to change the data provider.

Swap Display Axes

With this property, you can swap the chart axes in the display without changing the navigational state of the query view.

You can do the same by swapping the column and row axes of the characteristics in the underlying query view.

Show Expanded Hierarchy Nodes

With this property, you specify whether expanded hierarchy nodes are displayed or hidden.

If you deactivate this property, the expanded nodes can be removed from the chart if the display hierarchy is active. This ensures that the total of the values displayed is the overall result.

DisplayExceptions

With this property, you specify whether exceptions are displayed in the chart or hidden.

In the default setting, this property is deactivated, and no exceptions are displayed in the chart, even though the underlying data provider has exceptions. More information: Displaying Exceptions in Maps and Charts.

Context-Sensitive

With this property, you can make the chart context-sensitive. If you do not select this property, the chart displays all of the data in the data provider.

This property can only be selected for dynamic section.
