Opening and Saving Objects in BEx 

Use

This function allows you to open, save, and search for BI objects in the following BEx tools and applications:

●     Query Designer

●     Analyzer

●     Web Application Designer

●     Report Designer

●     Web Analyzer

●     Broadcaster

The function is divided into the Open and Save dialog boxes. The functions and the titles of the dialog boxes differ depending on where the Open and Save dialog boxes are called.

You can open, save, or search for the following BI objects:

●     Queries

●     Query views

●     Info providers

●     Workbooks

●     Reports

●     Web templates

Features

You can use the following dialog boxes and functions:

●     The Open dialog box for queries, query views, workbooks, exception, and alerts, and for Crystal Reports (formatted reporting) and Web templates from the history, favorites, roles, or workbooks view.

●     You can search easily for BI objects using the search function, which is a sub-function of the Open dialog box.

●     The Save dialog box for saving new BI objects.

All three dialog boxes/functions allow you to sort entries in the display window by clicking on the column headers or using the Sort function from the context menu.
