Workflow: Manual Planning and Planning Function 

Purpose

The delivered workflow Manual Planning and Planning Function (BPS50) shows how manual planning and planning functions can be linked in workflow.

Prerequisites

You have carried out the activities described in the Preparation and Customizing section.

Process Flow

       1.      Define a layout for manual planning and a planning function with a parameter group in the BW-BPS planning environment.

       2.      Assign agents to the planning packages defined in the planning environment. You can find more information under Preparation and Customizing.

       3.      Start the workflow Manual Planning and Planning Function in the SAP Easy Access screen under Tools → Business Workflow → Runtime Tools → Test Workflow. Enter planning package, layout, planning function, and parameter group.

       4.      The system generates a work item and automatically provides the assigned agent with it in the Business Workplace inbox.

       5.      The agent enters the plan data – possibly with interruptions - and completes the workflow step manually.

       6.      Then the planning function is automatically executed in the background by the workflow system.

       7.      If the planning function reports errors, the agent automatically receives a further work item in the inbox with which he or she can display the error messages.

       8.      After correcting the cause of the error, the planning function is automatically started again.

       9.      The workflow is completed when the planning function runs without any errors.
