Defining Procedure Packages You use the procedure package to control the plannig process. Using the procedure package, you can split the planning period into several planning horizons and assign a different procedure to each horizon. This means you can increase the level of detail of your planning on a step-by-step basis.
In Customizing for
Model Mix Planning
, you must check the procedure profiles available for the LP procedure, for the percentage smoothing procedure, the prioritized equal distribution and for the genetic algorithm or you have created your own procedure profiles.
When creating a procedure package, you specify the length and the number of planning horizons. You assign a procedure to each horizon. See also: Rules for Creating a Procedure Package
You can also define the following functions:
Planning offset
If you do not want to make any more changes in the short-term horizon, you can enter a planning offset in the procedure package. This planning offset is always added to the next working day following the day the transaction is executed.
This means starting from the day after the current date, you can delay the start of the first horizon of the planning run by a few days or shifts.
Adjustment periods
Using the adjustment periods between the procedures, you can allow the planning horizons to overlap. Then the system transfers the orders that it scheduled at the end of a planning horizon to the next planning horizon and thus the next procedure. This makes most sense, as the orders which cannot be brought into a permitted sequence by one procedure are scheduled to the end of the planning horizon.
Planning basis of the horizon
The planning basis determines:
Whether the system is only to use planned orders as the planning basis or whether it can also use uncovered requirements.
The lot size to be used (lot size 1 or cumulated per day/shift) for creating the planned orders in planning.
Processing profile
You also enter the processing profile in the planning horizon. You can use the processing profile to define the optimization parameters and therefore to influence the runtime of the planning run.
