Procedure documentationWorking with the GEP, BPP, or SPP Format Solution Locate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

You have learned and can work with the XSLT (Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformation) language. The GEP, BPP and SPP format projects support XSLT version 1.0.

Procedure

You can create a GEP, BPP, or SPP format solution from scratch or edit the existing format solutions.

Note Note

If you edit a BPP format solution and the version of its source file “Payment Wizard Results” is lower than the source file “Payment Wizard Results” provided by the Electronic File Manager: Format Definition add-on, you can update the source file to the higher version or use the current source file of the lower version. For more information about updating the source file, see Updating Source or Target Files.

End of the note.

To complete a GEP, BPP, or SPP format solution, proceed as follows:

  1. Prepare source files. This step is optional for BPP and SPP format projects that have predefined source files.

For more information, see Preparing a Crystal Reports RPT Source File and Subtypes of the SPP Format Project.

  2. Create a GEP, BPP, or SPP format project.

For more information, see Creating a GEP, BPP, or SPP Format Project.

  3. Edit the nodes in the target format tree.

For more information, see Working with a Node.

  4. Map the source nodes to the target nodes.

For more information, see Mapping the Format Between Source and Target Tree.

  5. Verify the format. If the verification fails, correct the issues.

For more information, see Verifying Formats.

  6. Test run each mapping. If the test run fails, correct the issues.

For more information, see Test Running Mappings.

  7. Save the format.

For more information, see Saving Formats.
