Procedure documentationAllocating Regular Items from Bin Locations Locate this document in the navigation structure

During the issuing of inventory, while SAP Business One can allocate items from bin locations automatically, you can also perform the allocation manually.

For more information about the automatic allocation, see Automatic Bin Location Allocation in Issues.

The following procedure explains how to manually allocate items that are not managed by serials or batches from bin locations.

Prerequisites

You have enabled bin locations for your warehouse.

For more information, see Enabling Bin Locations.

Procedure

  1. From the SAP Business One Main Menu, open an issue document.

For a list of issue documents, see Issues from Bin Locations.

  2. In the issue document, specify the item, quantity and warehouse.

  3. Open the Bin Location Allocation - Issue window in the row for which you want to perform the bin location allocation.

Different issue documents let you open the window in several ways, as follows:

    • Inventory transfer

      • In the Inventory Transfer window, click Link Arrow (Link Arrow) to the left of the quantity in the From Bin Locations field in the row.

      • In the Inventory Transfer window, right-click in the row and choose Allocate Items from Bin Locations.

      • In the Inventory Transfer window, place your cursor in the row and from the Goto menu, choose Allocate Items from Bin Locations.

    • All documents with the issuing of items, excluding inventory transfer

      • In the document, click Link Arrow (Link Arrow) to the left of the quantity in the Bin Location Allocation field in the row.

      • In the document, right-click in the row and choose Bin Location Allocation.

      • In the document, place your cursor in the row and press Ctrl + Shift + A.

      • In the document, place your cursor in the row and from the Goto menu, choose Bin Location Allocation.

  4. In the Bin Location Allocation - Issue window, select the bin locations from which you want to issue the items and specify how many of each item you want to issue from each bin location.

    Note Note

SAP Business One lets you allocate an item from a bin location even if the allocation causes the inventory of the item in the bin location to fall below zero. This makes it possible for you to record an issue document in advance when your inventory falls short of the requirement of the issue document.

To allow negative inventory of an item, select the Allow Negative Inventory checkbox in the corresponding row.

    End of the note.

If SAP Business One has already allocated the item from bin locations, you can first clear the allocations by choosing the Clear Allocations pushbutton.

    Note Note

You must fully allocate the item from bin locations till the Remaining quantity is zero. Otherwise, you cannot add the issue document.

    End of the note.
  5. In the Bin Location Allocation - Issue window, choose OK. The window closes.

  6. To add the issue document, choose Add in the document.
