Asset Master Data Window - Fixed Assets Tab: Cost Accounting Subtab

Use this subtab to assign projects and distribution rules to an asset to facilitate cost accounting.

For asset transactions that create journal entries, SAP Business One carries forward the relevant projects and distribution rules to the journal entries.

To access the subtab, from the SAP Business One Main Menu, choose Financials Fixed Assets Asset Master Data . Select the Fixed Assets tab and then the Cost Accounting subtab.

Project Assignment Fields

Valid From, Valid To
Specify the period during which you want to assign the asset to a project. The Valid From field is mandatory, while the Valid To field is optional in the last row. If you do not specify a Valid To date, SAP Business One regards it as 31.12.2099.

Project
Specify the projects to which you want to assign the asset. Note In the chart of accounts, you can also assign a project to a profit and loss account that is used by the asset. However, the project you assign here takes priority over the project assigned to the account. End of the note.

Distribution Rule Assignment Fields

Valid From, Valid To
Specify the period during which you want to assign a distribution rule to the asset. The Valid From field is mandatory, while the Valid To field is optional in the last row. If you do not specify a Valid To date, SAP Business One regards it as 31.12.2099.

Distribution Rule
Specify the distribution rules that you want to assign to the asset. Note In the chart of accounts, you can also assign distribution rules to a profit and loss account that is used by the asset. However, the distribution rules you assign here take priority over the distribution rules assigned to the account. End of the note.
