Contract Search and Display
You can use the search function to start most of the management tasks concerning revenue accounting contracts and performance obligations.
You can search for revenue accounting contracts using attributes on contracts and performance obligations. The search function addresses the following typical scenarios:
Searching for contracts that have specific attributes
For example, you can search for revenue accounting contracts of a certain company code that were created later than a specific date.
Searching for contracts that are associated with specific operational documents
For example, you can search for revenue accounting contracts associated with a certain sales order.
Searching for contracts that contain specific performance obligations
For example, you can search for revenue accounting contracts that contain performance obligations with a certain performance obligation name.
You can display search results using the following views:
General view
This view is a plain list of revenue accounting contracts.
Grouping by contract and then operational document
This view is a two-level hierarchical list. The first level lists groupings by contract. The second level lists operational documents associated with each contract.
Grouping by operational document and then contract
This view is a two-level hierarchical list. The first level lists groupings by operational document. The second level lists contracts associated with each operational document.
When you open a revenue accounting contract to view its details, the system provides the most important information about the current contract and the performance obligations contained in the contract. In addition, the system provides several perspectives for you to manage the performance obligations in the contract:
Performance Obligation Structure
In this perspective, you typically perform tasks that involve managing the structure of performance obligations and their relationships with one another.
Price Allocation
In this perspective, you typically perform tasks that involve managing price allocation. You can view and rearrange the price allocation of the contract.
Revenue Schedule
In this perspective, you typically perform tasks that involve managing the fulfillment of performance obligations. You can view and manage the fulfillment progress of the performance obligations. By default, fulfillment data is listed by accounting period. You can view the fulfillment details of each accounting period.
Comprehensive View
This perspective is integrated with many functions that are available in other perspectives. This typically allows you to perform different types of task from a single user interface.
When a list of performance obligations is displayed on a user interface, you have several options for organizing the performance obligations:
Standard view
This view is a plain list of the performance obligations contained in the contract.
Hierarchical view: grouping by operational document and then performance obligation type
This view is a three-level hierarchical list of the performance obligations contained in the contract. The first level is a grouping by operational document. The second level is a grouping by performance obligation type. The third level lists all performance obligations in a specific grouping.
