Users can manually edit revenue accounting contracts and performance obligations after they have been created automatically at the request of the back-end operational system.

The manual changes supported address the following typical scenarios:

  • Edit performance obligation attributes

    You can edit certain performance obligation attributes.

  • Add linked performance obligations

    You can manually add linked performance obligations for items that are committed but are not included in the operational document.

  • Add manual performance obligations

    You can add manual performance obligations for items that are committed but are not included in the operational document. Manual performance obligations do not point to other performance obligations as the leading performance obligation.

  • Change price allocation

    You can change the default price allocation applied by the system.

  • Reorganize performance obligations in the contract

    • Split a compound performance obligation

      You can split a compound performance obligation into several distinct performance obligations. When you perform this operation, the existing non-distinct performance obligations are converted into distinct performance obligations, and the existing compound performance obligation is removed.

    • Merge distinct performance obligations

      You can also merge multiple distinct performance obligations into a compound performance obligation. When you perform this operation, the existing distinct performance obligations are converted into non-distinct performance obligations, and a compound performance obligation is created.

  • Change the spreading for time-based performance obligations

    You can change the default spreading applied by the system.

  • Add rights of return

    You can manually add rights of return.

  • Edit the description of the contract

    You can edit the description of the contract.

  • Move performance obligations across contracts

    You can move performance obligations across contracts. The system allows you to restructure the performance obligations using cut and paste operations.

  • Move performance obligations within the contract

    You can move performance obligations within the same contract. The system allows you to restructure the performance obligations using cut and paste operations.

  • Combine contracts

    You can combine multiple contracts into one contract. The system allows you to restructure the performance obligations using cut and paste operations.

  • Delete performance obligations

    You can delete performance obligations. When you delete a performance obligation, it is marked as “soft-deleted”.
