ILM Functions Specific to the Line of Business in the Retention Warehouse System

You can set up the Retention Warehouse system so that Lifecycle Management for business data that is specific to a line of business occurs in a separate client. To do so, set up the Retention Warehouse system as follows:

Across all lines of business (cross-client)
- Settings for archiving objects

- Settings for the definition and application of ILM rules and legal holds

Specific to a line of business (client-specific):
- Audit areas
- ILM Policies
- Connection to the SAP NetWeaver BW System

Across Lines of Business or Specific to a Line of Business
- If you want to manage the ILM stores of a Retention Warehouse system across lines of business, you only need a storage service.
- If you want to manage ILM stores specific to a line of business, provide your own storage service for each line of business (client).
