Status of the Project Definition
The following statuses exist for the project definition:
Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
Created | The project has been created in the system (initial status). |
Released | |
Locked | The project is temporarily protected against changes. You can set the status at the same time as the status |
Completed | The project has been completed. |
Canceled | The project was not completed successfully. If a project is canceled, role staffings after the date the project was canceled are also canceled. |
To Be Archived | The project can be archived. |
Flagged for Transfer | The project is selected for transfer to SAP ECC. This status is only relevant if you selected an automatic controlling method for accounting integration. |
To Assign | The project is selected for transfer to SAP ECC. This status is only relevant if you selected a manual controlling method for accounting integration or have switched to manual assignment. |
Transferred | The project has successfully been transferred to SAP ECC. |
Assigned | The project has successfully been assigned. |
In the standard system, the following dependencies exist between the status of phases and the status of the project definition:
Phases can only be released if the project definition has been released and is not locked. If sequential phase processing is active in your project, the first phase is released automatically when the project is released.
Phases may only be added, modified, or deleted if the project definition has the status Created
or Released
.
If a phase has not been approved, the project cannot be completed, only canceled.
Locking a phase does not influence the status of the project definition. When a project definition is locked or unlocked, the status Locked
is not set or removed for the released phases.
The project definition can only be completed if the last phase has been approved.
If a project definition, phase, or template is locked, no dependent data (for example, checklist items) can be changed either. The project definition can only be unlocked.
For information about sequential and non-sequential phase processing, see Status of Phases.
For information about how status processing can be adjusted to customer-specific needs, see Status Management.
