Function documentationXcelsius Dashboards in SAP Portfolio and Project Management

Xcelsius provides enhanced charting features. These charts can be embedded into the Portfolio Management context using Business Context Viewer (BCV) Customizing. Predefined Customizing is already delivered. You can modify your Customizing settings by using these predefined Customizing settings as examples.

Integration

The charts are populated by BCV search connectors. These search connectors configured for BCV queries are based on InfoSets. Xcelsius charts can be assigned to newly defined queries to display the charts.

Prerequisites

  • The required Customizing is available in BCV. For detailed information about BCV Customizing, see Configuring Business Context Viewer (BCV).

  • The mapping of financial views to chart views has been defined in Customizing for SAP Portfolio and Project Management under Start of the navigation path Portfolio Management Next navigation step Global Customizing Next navigation step Portfolio-Independent Settings Next navigation step Define Xcelsius Charts Next navigation step Define Xcelsius Chart View Mappings End of the navigation path.

Features

You can use Xcelsius charts in Portfolio Management to carry out financial analysis for buckets, items, and initiatives. You can call these charts up from the respective Portfolio Management dashboards (see Dashboard in Portfolio Management) by choosing Reporting, and from the object detail screens by choosing Reporting Cockpit. The charts provide a comparison between the actual and planned costs recorded for that object. Furthermore, a detailed financial view based on distribution is displayed.

The following Xcelsius dashboards are available in the standard system:

  • Item Actual vs. Planned Cost

  • Initiative Actual vs. Planned Cost

  • Bucket Financial Analysis

In addition to this, overview charts for the analysis of financial data by timeline are available. For more information, see SAP Business Content for SAP BusinessObjects in SAP Portf. and Proj. Mgmt.

You can also define your own Xcelsius charts, if required.
