To use the SAP BusinessObjects Explorer, you must have switched on the Start of the navigation path 0002 Master Switch Next navigation step 0008 Enhanced Capital and Resource Mgmt Switch (see SAP Note 1457426) End of the navigation path in Customizing for SAP Portfolio and Project Management under Start of the navigation path Portfolio Management Next navigation step Global Customizing Next navigation step Global Settings Next navigation step Override Default Global Settings End of the navigation path.

  • Export to Microsoft Excel by choosing the Export pushbutton

  • Sort the list

  • Filter the list

  • Personalize the display of columns by clicking Settings

For more information about which of the following additional features are available in which dashboard, see Dashboard Features.

Different Views of Dashboard

For some object dashboards, you can select several views, such as All, Active, Inactive, Released, and so on. You must have assigned these views to scopes. The exception to this is the dashboard of portfolio structure: It contains separate applications, such as List of Buckets, Bucket Structure, and so on.

Budget Status, Schedule Status, or Staffing Status

If you click the icons of the budget status, schedule status, or staffing status, the system displays the details of the statuses in a separate area below the dashboard.

Related Items

If you select a row in the dashboard, the system displays the items related to this object.

Mass Update

You can edit specific attributes of selected items, initiatives, reviews, or decision points by choosing the Mass Update pushbutton. For decision points, you can only edit the columns that contain data from the decision point object; the columns with data from the phase object are read-only.

Move To

You can select single items or initiatives and move them to another bucket by choosing the Move To pushbutton.

Advanced Filter

With the advanced filter, you can use the search function to filter by criteria that are not visible in the dashboard. You can filter with the search function by choosing the Additional Filter pushbutton.

Settings

You can use this function to personalize the fields to be displayed in the SAP List Viewer (ALV) in the dashboard.

We deliver a set of standard fields that you can modify in Customizing for SAP Portfolio and Project Management under Start of the navigation path Portfolio Management Next navigation step Global Customizing Next navigation step Global Field Settings Next navigation step Dashboard Settings Next navigation step Define Fields for Dashboards End of the navigation path.

Note Note

With the personalized settings in the front end, you override the settings that were made in Customizing of the back-end system. For more information, see Customizing for fields for dashboards.

End of the note.
Integration with SAP BusinessObjects Explorer

SAP BusinessObjects Explorer

You use SAP BusinessObjects Explorer to search and explore data for instant insight into your business. You can get quick, easy answers to on-the-fly questions without training or IT involvement, by simply entering a few keywords to search for relevant information and then intuitively exploring large volumes of data – without prior knowledge about what data exists or where to find it. You can start the search in the dashboard by choosing SAP BusinessObjects Explorer.
