 Thumbnails

Use

You use thumbnails (miniature graphics with low resolution) in Collaboration Folders ( cFolders ) to obtain a preview of your potentially numerous cFolders objects that provides you with a visual impression of the content of that object. A file preview of this kind offers a quick method of differentiating between objects particularly if there are large numbers of them.

Prerequisites

  • You have write authorization for the object for which you want to create, change, or delete a thumbnail .

  • You have set the Display Thumbnails indicator under Start of the navigation path Settings Next navigation step General Next navigation step Special Functions End of the navigation path so that the system displays the thumbnails.

Features

Thumbnails are available for the objects folder , material , and document on the detail page ( folder ) or the overview page ( material , document ) of the relevant object.

Activities

You can create, change, and delete thumbnails for an object.

To create a thumbnail, upload a picture from your local hard disk or a network server.

Check whether your web browser supports the file format of your picture (for example, *.jpg, *.bmp, *.gif, and so on).

You can use the Business Add-In (BAdI) Thumbnails to perform checks when you create or change a thumbnail. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Collaboration Folders under Start of the navigation path Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) Next navigation step Thumbnails End of the navigation path .
