Function documentationResource Management Favorites

You use this function to add and remove selected resources or projects to a favorites list. You can load the resources and projects later more easily using the favorites list. You do not see all resources or projects in one list, but you can divide the resource or projects into different lists according to your needs.

Prerequisites

  • You have been assigned the resource manager or staffing manager role.

  • You have added resources or projects to the Resources and Staffing work centers.

Features

When you logon to the Resources or Staffing work centers and no favorites list is selected, a full list of resources or projects is displayed. You can do the following:

  • Select an existing favorites list

  • Edit an existing favorites list

  • Create a new favorites list

The following can be performed in both work centers.

Add Favorites
  • You can select one or more resources or projects and choose Add to Favorites. When you choose Save As, you can then enter a name and description for the list.

  • You can also set your favorites list as a default. Every time you logon to the system this list is displayed.

  • When you are finished defining the properties of your favorites list, click Save.

Edit Favorites

To edit an existing favorites list, select the name of the list and choose Edit Favorites. From here you can do the following:

  • Delete the entire favorites list

  • Remove resources or projects from the favorites list

  • Add members to your resources favorites list

  • Add projects to your staffing favorites list

  • Edit the properties of the list to change the description and default status

Example

A resource manager has 10 resources (R1 - R10) that he is responsible for. These resources are divided across three development centers. The resource manager wants to look into the statistics for each development center. The resource work center always loads all the ten resources. The resource manager can now create three different favorite lists corresponding to the three development centers and then load each favorite list and see the statistics of each development center.
