You create versions of a portfolio item (item) or of a portfolio initiative (initiative) to document the status of an item at a certain point in time (snapshot) or to simulate changes (simulation).

Process

  1. You create versions of an item or initiative out of the item or initiative. For more information, see Version Creation.

  2. You change existing versions by clicking the link of the Version Information Name in the dashboard of versions.

  3. You delete versions by deleting them in the dashboard of versions and by saving the original object.

Result

  • You have created a version of the item or initiative that you can retrieve later.

  • If you have also created a version of the linked project (item) or the linked projects (items of initiative), you can navigate from the version details screen to the project by choosing the Project pushbutton.
