Function documentation Create New Bucket  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

With this Web application, you can create a new bucket object as follows:

·        Within a portfolio

·        Within another bucket

A bucket may contain multiple items or additional buckets. A bucket and an item cannot co-exist in the same bucket. Items must be created in the lowest level bucket.

      To expand/collapse all trays, click the overlapping triangles icon at the top right.

      To expand/collapse individual trays, click icon at the top right of respective tray.

Features

Bucket collects information in several trays. the first two contain mandatory fields.

General Information

You are required to provide information about the bucket in the fields described below.

Bucket Name

Mandatory

An alphanumeric field describing the bucket.

External ID

Mandatory

A unique identifier for the bucket.

Description

Optional

Enter a detailed description about the bucket.

Parent Name

System Generated

Displays the name of the parent bucket. This field is populated by the system based on your selection in the previous screen. It is blank if the bucket is being created within a portfolio. For more information, see Bucket Selection.

Date Created

Updated by the system

Displays the date on which this bucket was created. During bucket creation, this field is blank and is updated when you choose Save.

Last Update

Updated by system

This field displays the date on which this bucket was last updated.  During bucket creation, this field is blank and is updated when you choose Save.

Updated by

Updated by the system

Displays the name of the user who last updated the bucket.  During bucket creation, this field is blank and is updated when you choose Save.

Status

Mandatory

Select from the dropdown menu whether the bucket is active or inactive.

Bucket Review Count

Updated by System

The number of reviews associated with the bucket is displayed. During bucket creation, this field is blank and updated when you choose Save.

Bucket Item count

Updated by System

The number of items created directly within the current bucket, is displayed.

Financial and Capacity Planning Settings

You specify the dates for monitoring the financial and capacity planning for all projects at the bucket level. You may modify this for individual items.

      In capacity planning you can view, plan and manage capacity and deployment of human capital assets across multiple projects. 

      In financial planning, you can do the same with allocated budgets. 

Provide relevant information about the bucket in the fields described below.

Capacity Planning Start date

Mandatory

Specify the date from which the resources for all items (projects) within this bucket need to be monitored.  Enter the date manually or use the Date Picker next to the field to specify the date. You may change this value for individual items.

Capacity Planning End Date

Mandatory

Specify the date up to which the resources for all items (projects) within this bucket need to be monitored.  Enter the date manually or click on the date picker next to the field to specify the date. You may change this value for individual items.

Period Breakdown

Optional

From the dropdown menu, select a time unit in which the capacity and financial planning needs to be viewed.

Capacity Unit

Mandatory

Specify the time unit in which the allocation of the resources will be specified in all items within this bucket by selecting it from the dropdown menu.

Financial Planning Start Date

Mandatory

Date from which financial planning for all items (projects) within this bucket should be initiated. Enter the date manually or click on the date picker next to the field to specify the date. You may change this value for individual items.

Financial Planning End Date

Mandatory

Date up to which the financial planning for all items (projects) within this bucket should be initiated. Enter the date manually or click on the date picker next to the field to specify the date. You may change this value for individual items.

Currency

Mandatory

Specify the currency in which all financial figures will be specified and monitored in this bucket by selecting it from the dropdown menu.

Authorizations

You can add and remove users and change their authorizations to access the bucket. The user creating the bucket is automatically added with administration rights.

Add a User

...

       1.      Choose Add user manually.

       2.      Use Search User to select the user and add to the list.

Remove a User

...

       1.      Click the box to the left of the user name.

       2.      Choose Remove.

Change User Authorization

...

       1.      Check appropriate boxes under Admin, Owner, Read or Write. 

       2.      Click the icon at the top right corner of the tray to display the description of each authorization. 

Comments

This is an optional field. Here, you may add comments relevant to the bucket. The box on the right displays the comments log.

Field Service Configuration

Here you may specify the standard fields under the Standard Field tab page and the list of questionnaires under the Decision Point Fields tab page.
