Function documentation Bucket Selection  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You can use this Web application to select a portfolio bucket as a parent for the object on which you are currently working. Depending on the object context, you can also choose the parent portfolio for your current object.

·        To select the current object as a parent or to select a parent manually from the portfolio structure, choose one of the existing radio button options

·        If you select an object manually, select the required parent bucket.

Features

The bucket selection is used in the following actions:

Creating a new bucket

You must create each bucket either under the portfolio or under a parent bucket. In this context, the bucket selection allows you to choose the current portfolio as the bucket parent. If there is a bucket set as the current object, the next radio button you can select is to select this bucket. If there is no current bucket object or the current bucket already contains items, this option remains hidden. The final option is to manually select a parent bucket from the portfolio structure. This tree structure does not represent the entire portfolio structure, but only compatible parent buckets, that is buckets that do not already contain items.

Creating a new item/collection

You must create each item under a parent bucket. When you create an item, the bucket selection allows you to select the current bucket object as a parent or to manually select a parent bucket from the portfolio structure. If the current bucket object is invalid, meaning that this bucket already contains subbuckets, the first option is hidden. If you manually select a parent bucket from the portfolio structure, the tree only contains a flat list of valid buckets. Invalid buckets are not displayed in the tree structure.

Creating a review

You must create each review under a parent bucket. When you create a review, the bucket selection allows you to select the current bucket object as a parent or to manually select a parent bucket from the portfolio structure. There is no limitation on valid parent buckets in this scenario, so a current bucket object is always shown. Choosing a parent bucket manually from the portfolio structure is the second option. In this scenario, all buckets in the hierarchy are shown and you can pick these as valid parents.

Selecting a bucket for a resource

A resource can be associated with a parent bucket. Since the resource object is created independently of a portfolio, you can associate it with a parent bucket of any portfolio. The bucket selection allows you to first pick the parent portfolio from the portfolio dropdown box. The corresponding portfolio structure is shown in the tree below. Since there is no parent bucket validation in this scenario, all the buckets in the portfolio structure are shown and you can select all of these buckets.
