Legacy Web Repository Manager
The Legacy Web Repository Manager is included in upgrade or migration scenarios for reasons of backwards compatibility. When you have upgraded or migrated your system, you can still use your previous Web repository managers.
If you want to create new Web repositories, you use the normal Web repository manager. Parameters that are required to log on to the Web server or for form-based logon have been removed and are available in the configuration of Web sites and HTTP systems.
In comparison to the normal Web repository manager, the configuration of the legacy Web repository manager comprises the following additional parameters:
Parameters for the Advanced Web Repository Manager
Parameter |
Required |
Description |
Content Cache Directory |
No |
Specifies a directory in the file system in which the resource content for the cache is stored. If no directory is specified, the resource content is stored in the database. |
Login Form ID |
No |
Specifies the HTML ID of the logon dialog box. Normally the logon dialog box of the HTML page is recognized automatically. If, for example, there are several logon dialog boxes, you can select the correct login form ID here. |
Login URI |
No |
URI of an HTML page using which the logon dialog box of the remote server is called. Enter the URI relative to the system URI, for example, /irj/portal. If logon always takes place using a dedicated server, enter the complete URI, for example, http://company.com/login. |
Login User Agent |
No |
HTTP user agent used for the logon. This is needed in case the remote server generates the logon page according to the HTTP user agent. If not HTTP user agent is specified, an error page is returned instead of the logon dialog box. You need this specification when accessing another portal. Example: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows NT 5.0) |
Proxy Host |
No |
Host name of an HTTP proxy to use for this repository As an alternative, you can activate the parameter Use System Default Proxy Settings. In this case, you then leave the parameters Proxy Host and Proxy Port blank. |
Proxy Port |
No |
Port number where the proxy can be reached on Proxy Host. |
Proxy System ID (Landscape Service) |
No |
Proxy server ID from the system landscape service (see HTTP System) As an alternative, you can activate the parameter Use System Default Proxy Settings. You then leave this parameter blank. |
Start Page |
No |
Explicitly specified start page that overrides the default start page of the Web site. |
System ID (Landscape Service) |
No |
HTTP system specification that is registered in the CM system landscape. You specify this parameter only if the repository is to map a single Web site. In this case, you must not select any of the Web sites that may be presented as options for the Web Sites property. |
System Path |
No |
Optional suffix for the server URL of the remote system. The server URL is a property of the (landscape) system. System Path enables you to use the same system for different paths in the URL namespace. |
Cache Content Persistently |
No |
Specifies whether resource content is cached. Depending on the Content Cache Directory parameter, the content is stored either in the database or in the file system. |
Property Search Manager |
No |
Selection of manager for property search. It is used by services and applications that need to find resources based on their properties. Choose Standard Property Search Manager |
Login Timeout |
No |
Timeout in milliseconds after which the cookies with the logon information becomes invalid and a new logon is required. A session is generated for each cookie. If inactivity takes place, the session may be deleted. SAP therefore recommends that you choose a short timeout period of around 20 minutes (1200000 ms). |
For an overview of the other parameters, see Web Repository Manager.
