Use
The scheduler service is used by CM applications and services to start and execute tasks at predefined times.

Features
The scheduler server is activated by default. The scheduler service starts tasks that are created under Content Management ® Global Services ®Scheduler Tasks (see Scheduler Tasks).
Do not get these tasks mixed up with the tasks of the task queue service. Task queue service tasks are only abstract descriptions of tasks. Scheduler service tasks are concrete tasks that can be executed.
The scheduler checks continuously whether the current time matches any of the times specified in the assigned tasks. If so, it executes the task as prescribed.
