Function documentation Polling Scheduler Task Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

When you create a subscription, you can specify how often you want yourself or others to be informed about changes to documents.

Polling scheduler tasks are defined in the standard configuration for every interval.

Overview of Polling Scheduler Tasks

Each of these tasks causes the subscription service to check the documents belonging to it at the time specified. If a document has changed, a notification is sent.

Note

A subscription that informs you about every change to a document does not need its own polling scheduling task, as it reacts directly to repository events.

Prerequisites

The subscription service is activated.

Features

The following parameters are available for the definition of a polling scheduler task:

Parameters of Polling Scheduler Tasks

Activities

You have to define the CM installation on which the polling scheduler tasks are to be carried out. You only have to do this once.

To assign polling scheduler tasks to a CM installation, choose Content Management Global Services Scheduler Tasks Polling Scheduler Task.

If required you can specify other times at which the tasks are to be carried out (see Scheduler Timetable)
