Installing Permanent (Fixed Period) SAP
Licenses
To operate your SAP system on a permanent basis you need to install a permanent license. This license can be for a fixed period (see Validity Period of SAP License Keys).

If you still have license keys of the old type installed, you can administer these on the Old Licenses tab page. However, you can no longer install license keys of the old type.
● You have received the license key for your installation from SAP.

1. In transaction SLICENSE, choose the Digitally-Signed Licenses tab page.
2. Choose Install.
A dialog box appears, in which you specify the local file to be loaded from the file system.
3. Enter the license key file and confirm your entry.
A success message appears for you to confirm.
The new license is displayed under Installed Licenses in the Database.
4. Then check whether you can log onto the SAP System.

The license has been correctly installed if you can log on. If problems arise (if an error message is displayed during the installation procedure, if you cannot log on, and so on), please refer to the section entitled Frequently Asked Questions About the SAP License.

2. Choose Install.
A dialog box appears, in which you specify the local file to be loaded from the file system.
3. Enter the license key file and confirm your entry.
A success message appears for you to confirm.
The new license is displayed under Licenses for License Clients in the Database of the License Server.
4. Now set the profile parameters in the license client, as described under Setting Up a License Server System and Client Systems.
In the license client system, you can display the existing licenses for your own information or in the case of Support questions in transaction SLICENSE on the Licenses in License Client tab page.
The relevant license key is installed and immediately active.
