Additional Functions of the Operating System
Monitor
In addition to viewing performance data fort he monitored hosts (more information: Selecting the Views of the Operating System Monitor), you can also display status, configuration, and hardware information. You can also centrally administer the respective SAPOSCOL operating system collectors of the monitored hosts.

Functions subtree of the
navigation bar provides the following functions:
This function provides hardware information for the selected host; the exact scope of this information depends on the host’s platform.
This function displays the operating system log for the selected host; on Microsoft Windows platforms, this is the Windows Event Log; on UNIX platforms, this is the system log syslog.log.
This function displays the current values of the operating system parameters for the selected host.
This function displays the change history of operating system parameters; the parameter changes are always shown for the hosts of the local system, irrespective of which systems or instances you selected.
This function performs a performance check of the network connections to the different hosts in your network. This function is also available to you as transaction OS01.
You can control and monitor the operating system collector SAPOSCOL within the operating system monitor. Among other things, you can start and stop SAPOSCOL and display the log files and the current status of the collector.
To specify which additional functions you want to display in the operating system monitor, choose the appropriate entry from the above subtree.
