Administering SAPOSCOL from the Operating
System Monitor
You can control and monitor the operating system collector SAPOSCOL within the operating system monitor. You can use the following commands to do this:
● Start and stop SAPOSCOL
● Display dev_coll, the log file of SAPOSCOL
● Display the current status of SAPOSCOL
● Set and delete detail selection (more information: SAPOSCOL Log Files).

1. Call the operating system monitor (more information: Operating System Monitor.)
2. Choose the desired host for which you want to administer the operating system collector; more information about selecting the host: Selecting Operating System Data of Systems, Instances, and Hosts.

From the list of
analysis views in the navigation bar, choose
Additional Functions →
Administer SAPOSCOL.
4. Choose the desired button:

Starts or stops SAPOSCOL on the selected host |
Log File |
Displays dev_coll, the SAPOSCOL log file (more information: SAPOSCOL Log Files) |
Status |
Displays the status of the collector. This includes, among other things, information about whether the collector is running and the version of SAPOSCOL. |
Details On Details Off |
Activates or deactivates detailed selection (more information: Reducing the CPU Load Caused By SAPOSCOL) |
