Analyzing the Runtime Cache 

Use

To ensure that the relevant Integration Engines have quick access to the contents of the Enterprise Services Repository and Integration Directory at runtime, the information required is loaded into corresponding caches. Caches also contain the runtime-relevant data from the System Landscape Directory (SLD).

The Integration Directory cache is always updated:

...

●      When a change list is activated in the Integration Directory

●      A change list in the Enterprise Services Repository is updated that contains objects (mapping objects or integration processes) that are used in the Integration Directory

For the purposes of troubleshooting, you can analyze the runtime cache and, if necessary, update it.

Procedure

Analyze the Runtime Cache

       1.      To analyze the runtime cache, log on to the system with the Integration Engine client and choose Exchange Infrastructure à Configuration à XI Directory Cache (Transaction SXI_CACHE).

On the left of the screen, those object types whose runtime versions you can analyze are displayed in a tree structure. To display the object key for object types whose object key comprises services or parties or both (for example, receiver determinations), expand the relevant tree node.

The traffic light icon at the top of the screen on the right displays the status of the cache.

○       Red traffic light: The cache is not up-to-date. This means that there are objects in activated Integration Directory change lists that are not yet contained in the cache.

○       Amber traffic light: The cache is currently being updated. This means that you must wait until the cache update is complete.

○       Green traffic light: The cache is up-to-date and can be analyzed.

       2.      To display more information about an object, double-click it.

The attributes of each object are displayed.

Update the Runtime Cache

To update the runtime cache, perform one the following tasks.

Task	Procedure
Update Cache	To update the runtime cache, in the menu bar choose Runtime Cache à Start Delta Cache Refresh (or choose the icon  in the toolbar). The missing activated change lists are included in the runtime cache.
Update Cache Completely	To restructure the cache completely, in the menu bar choose Runtime Cache à Start Complete Cache Refresh.
Display Cache-Update Errors	If an error occurred while updating the runtime cache, a red traffic light is shown. To display information about an error, in the menu bar choose Runtime Cache à Display Refresh Error.
Display Adapter Engine Cache	To display the runtime cache of the relevant Adapter Engine, in the menu bar choose Goto  →  AE Cache.
