Prerequisites

Procedure

  1. Call up transaction LXE_MASTER and choose the Object Types pushbutton on the Langs tab page.

  2. Double-click the target language for which you want to define object types for translation.

    The Object Types dialog box appears.

  3. Choose Object Types.

    The Object Type Selection dialog box appears. The individual object types are grouped together under their respective object groups, which appear in order of translation priority.

  4. You can select individual object types, or individual object groups for translation. To do so, double-click the object type or object group. If you want to define all object types for translation, double-click the top node Object Type Selection.

    The absolute minimum scope for translation is to choose object groups A5 (User Interface Texts)

    and A6 (Table Entries).

  5. Choose Execute (Execute).

    You return to the Object Types dialog box. The object types that you selected are now listed in this dialog box

  6. Choose Save (Save)

  7. Repeat this procedure for all other target languages defined in your system.

Result

The object types you selected are now activated for translation for the target languages for which you performed the above procedure.

The next time that you run an evaluation, objects for the activated object types are evaluated and included in the statistics and worklists.

You can now maintain the distribution parameters for the activated object types.

If you decide that you want to deactivate a specific object type of object group for a specific target language, proceed as follows:

  1. Call up transaction LXE_MASTER and choose the Object Types pushbutton on the Langs tab page.

    specific object type for translation, select it and choose Delete Selected Entries.

  2. Double-click the target language for which you want to deactivate object types for translation.

  3. Select the object type(s) that you no longer want to translate into this target language and choose Delete Selected Entries (Delete Selected Entries).

  4. Choose Save (Save)

  5. Now run an evaluation with deletion to remove any objects of this object type from the worklists and statistics. For more information, see Creating Evaluations.
