Procedure documentationImporting Models for the Data Provider Service Locate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

You have created a logical port including a service endpoint for the search template service.

For more information, see Connecting Back-End Systems.

Procedure

Use the modeler to import the models for the DPS.

  1. Launch the modeler.

  2. If you have not imported a software component, choose   Import   Software Component  .

If you want to import further models for an existing software component, select this software component in the table and choose   Import   Model  .

  3. If you want to import a software component, choose the Data Provider Services type.

  4. In the upper list, choose the logical port that you previously created.

  5. In the lower list, choose the software component required with the associated models.

  6. Choose Import.

  7. Choose a transport request or create a new one that you want to use for the import.

Then the models are imported. If a model contains errors or inconsistencies, the import terminates with an error messsage. After the import, consistent models are available in the modeler and can be displayed there. However, you cannot change these models in the modeler, you can only import the models again to incorporate changes.

Note Note

Once you have imported the software component and if you have already created logical ports of the type search data service according to the procedure described in Connecting Back-End Systems, you can then assign logical ports of the type search data service to a software component directly in the modeler. This means that you can skip one step in the procedure described in Creating DPS Search Object Connectors. To do this, proceed as follows:

In the modeler, select the required software component and choose Add in the details area to assign the necessary logical portsl to the software component. If you want to remove a logical port, choose Remove.

End of the note.

In the next step, create a search object connector of the type Data Provider Services. For more information, see Creating DPS Search Object Connectors.
