Backing Up and Restoring Data

You must back up your system landscape at regular intervals to be able to restore it easily and quickly in the event of a failure.

The data backup and restore strategy for SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search includes the following components and data:

The back up and restore this data, you can use the following methods:

SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search Backup and Restore
This method allows a backup using online snapshots without downtime.
SAP NetWeaver Standard Backup and Restore
This method requires sequentially locking, backing up, and then unlocking the TREX server and then the ABAP server (or vice versa), which requires an RFC-enabled API for the locking actions. The locks lead to downtimes during the data backup.
