More information: Initial Configuration (documentation for SES)

Required Information

To connect an SAP ERP 6.0 system to SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search, you require the following information:

  • System ID and client of the SAP ERP 6.0 system that you want to connect to SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search

  • System number of the SAP ERP 6.0 system that you want to connect to SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search

  • Application server, for example, cde.location.company.corp

  • Password of the Search_Conn system user on the SAP ERP 6.0 system.

Recommendation Recommendation

We recommend that you note the required information before starting the actual connection procedure.

End of the recommendation.

Process

  1. Establish a trusted relationship between SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search and the back-end system.

More information: Creating a Trusted Relationship with Enterprise Search

  2. Prepare the back-end system.

More information: Preparing an ERP 6.0 (ERP 2005) System for Enterprise Search

  3. Create a search object connector based on a template.

    Note Note

You must create search object connectors for each object type that you want to search for (Material, Customer, and so on).

In transaction RZ11, you must assign the value 4 to the auth/new_buffering profile parameter so that changes in user data are available without delay and can be subsequently indexed. Then schedule object USER_AUTHORITY for delta indexing.

    End of the note.
