Workset: System Administration

The System Administration workset provides administrators with tools to configure, maintain, and support the portal, its services, and system landscape.

The availability of certain functions described in this topic are dependent upon the execution of one or more EPC configuration tasks. For more information, see Automated Configuration Tasks.

This topic does not describe other tools, assigned to the System Admin role, which are installed with other portal add-on capabilities, such knowledge management and collaboration.

Integration

By default, the System Administration workset is integrated into the System Admin role (see Administration Roles).

Features

The workset contains the following subordinate worksets (which contain various pages and iViews):

Workset	Description
Transport	Provides the tools and services for importing and exporting content in transport packages, uploading content and actions using an XML script, uploading roles from ABAP-based systems, and content mirroring. Monitoring	This workset contains the following content: Object Locking (see Managing Locked Objects)
Permissions	Provides services for defining portal permissions and SAP authorizations. This workset contains the following page and iView: Portal Permissions (see Portal Permissions) SAP Authorizations (see Role and User Distribution to the SAP System)
Content Model Management	Provides content model management tools for classifying properties, synchronizing templates, and transporting the content model to other portals. System Configuration	Provides configuration tools for system landscape, user management, and Web Dynpro. Portal Display	Provides services for editing portal themes, accessing the theme archive, defining rules for portal desktops through user and role assignments, configuring framework pages, and generating ITS themes. Federated Portal	Provides tools for managing connections between your system and remote SAP NetWeaver and WSRP-compliant portals in a federated portal network (FPN). Navigation	Provides configuration tools for enhancing the runtime navigation experience in the portal. This workset contains the following iViews: Navigation Cache (see Caching Navigation Nodes) Short URLs (see Navigation with Short URLs) OBN Cache (see Activating the OBN Cache)
