Content usage mode: WSRP application sharing

Applies to: consumers

Note Note

The functionality described in this topic is not available in an SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment system.

End of the note.

This topic describes how you create proxy-to-portlet iViews in the portal based on remote portlets or remote iViews exposed by another non-SAP or SAP NetWeaver producer portal, respectively.

Prerequisites

  • You have added the producer, tested the connection, and registered your portal.

  • You have administrator read permission to the producer object from which you want to retrieve content. For more information, see Assigning Administrator Permissions to FPN Connections.

  • If you are consuming content from an SAP NetWeaver producer:

  • If you are consuming content from a non-SAP producer, the portal administrator from the producer has configured the portlets so they are exposed to external consumers.

  • You have access to the standard Content Admin role on the consumer portal.

Procedure

  1. In the consumer portal, navigate to   Content Administration   Portal Content Management  . The Portal Content Studio is launched.

  2. In the Portal Catalog, right-click a folder in which you want to create the proxy-to-portlet iViews, and then choose   New   iView  .

  3. In the iView wizard, do the following in each step:

    Instructions

To make changes, click Back until you reach the relevant step in you want to make changes.

  4. Click Finish to create a proxy-to-portlet iView for each remote iView or portlet you selected.

Result

You have created a proxy-to-portlet iView for each remote portlet or iView you selected in the iView wizard.

Note Note

The name of each proxy-to-portlet iView is the same as its source portlet or iView. The ID of each proxy-to-portlet iView is taken from the wsrp.portletID field returned by the producer.

End of the note.

To test a proxy-to-portlet iView, right-click it in the Portal Catalog and choose Preview.

You now manage these copied objects as you would with any other local objects; for more information, see Working with Proxy-to-Portlet iViews.

For information on how proxy-to-portlet iViews on the consumer relate to their source iViews/portlets on the producer, see 'WSRP Application Sharing' Mode.
