This tutorial walks you through the steps necessary to model a simple portal application with Visual Composer. You create a URL iView and a portal page, add the iView to the page, deploy and preview the application in the portal.

Log on to Visual Composer. For instructions, see Accessing Visual Composer in a Web Browser.
Choose
.In the Create New Model dialog box, choose iView.
In the Name field, enter a name for the model.
Choose a relevant Development Component in which to save the model.
If you want to create a new development component, click New, and in the Create New Development Component dialog box, enter a name and click OK.
Click OK.
In the Templates dialog box, choose URL iView.
In the URL to the iView Target, enter a URL, for example, http://www.sap.com, and click OK.
Choose
.In the Create New Model dialog box, choose Page.
In the Name field, enter a name for the model.
Make sure you choose the same Development Component in which you saved the iView model, and click OK. The page opens on the Portal Layout board.
Click Search in the task-panel toolbar. The Search task panel opens.
In the Search in dropdown list, choose Visual Composer Models.
In the Search for field, enter the name (or a part of it, accompanied by an asterisk) of the iView that you have created previously.
In the Type dropdown list, choose the Model type.
Click Search. Your iView is displayed in the results.
From the Results list, select the iView and drag it on the page.
Click Deploy in the task-panel toolbar. The Deploy task panel opens.
Click Deploy. The deployment result is displayed in the lower part of the Deploy task panel.
Click the page link in the deployment results to open the preview window and see your page with the iView displayed.
