Background documentation SAP Preferences  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

In order to work with the SAP tools in the Developer Studio you have to set some preferences before you can start with the development.

Important preferences are:

      SAP AS Java

Defines the server you are developing with. To change the settings or add a new server choose:

Windows Preferences   SAP AS Java.

      Web Services

Defines the settings for web services, like the service registry. To change the settings choose:

Windows Preferences   Web Services.

Depending on the technology you are using the following preferences are important:

      Development Infrastructure

If you are working with development components (DC), like in CAF and Web Dynpro, you have to check the JDK settings for the DC build. To adjust the settings choose:

Windows Preferences   Development Infrastructure DC Build.

      CAF Preferences

Preferences for the Composite Application Framework (CAF). To change the settings choose:

Windows Preferences   Composite Application Framework.

      Web Dynpro

Preferences for Web Dynpro for Java. To change the settings choose:

Windows Preferences   Web Dynpro.

      Dictionary

Preferences for the Dictionary perspective. To change the settings choose:

Windows Preferences   Dictionary.
