Procedure documentationConfiguring the Application Server in the Developer Studio Locate this document in the navigation structure

Use this procedure only if you need to change the default preferences for the application server, which the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio should use to deploy applications to.

Procedure

  1. Choose   Window   Preferences   SAP AS Java  from the main menu.

  2. On the SAP AS Java screen, choose Add.

  3. Enter the host name or the IP address of the host where the application server is installed in the Instance Hostname field.

  4. Enter the instance number in the Instance number field. You can deduct the instance number from the instances displayed in the SAP Management Console (SAP MC). For example, if the central services instance of your AS Java is SCS15, enter 15.

  5. Choose OK.

  6. When you register the SAP instance, it appears in the System Instance/Number table.

  7. Choose OK.

Communication between SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio and AS Java is performed using specific port. By default, the port number is derived using the following formula: 50000 + (Instance Number * 100) + 13. Therefore, you need to ensure that communication through this port is allowed if you are using a firewall between both entities.
