You can format the process you model to make it look better and be more understandable. Formatting the process model aligns objects and straightens the connections between the objects. You can use the formatting option on the following levels:

Caution Caution

If you have manually modified a connection and you want to format the process, pool or lane, the manually modified connection is not formatted automatically. This may result in a bad-looking connection. You have to format the connection separately using the Format Connection option or by changing the orientation of the process.

Prerequisites

  • You have opened the Process Development perspective in the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio and have expanded your project in Project Explorer view.

  • You have modeled a process with the process composer.

Procedure

Formatting a Process in the Default Pool
  1. Open the context menu of the default pool by clicking the modeling surface.

  2. In the context menu, choose Format Diagram.

Formatting a Pool
  1. Select the pool.

  2. In the context menu of the pool. choose Format Pool.

Formatting a Lane
  1. Select the lane.

  2. In the context menu of the lane, choose Format Lane.

Formatting an Embedded Sub-Process
  1. Expand the embedded sub-process.

  2. In the context menu of the embedded sub-process, choose Format Embedded Sub-Process.

Formatting a Connection
  1. Select the connection.

  2. In the context menu of the connection, choose Format Connection.
