Procedure documentation Granting View Permissions  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

In complex process or block structures where you have multiple items executed by multiple users, you can define view permissions for the actions processed by different contributors.

Example

If a block contains two actions – A and B, and you have defined a separate role for each of them, you can enable the processor of action A to also see action B at runtime, and vice versa. In a real-life scenario, you can use this function if the processor of an action needs to review the results of the previous actions before he or she can complete the step assigned to him or her.

Prerequisites

·        The block or process flow must contain two or more items.

·        You must have defined two or more role groups for the block or process. For more information, see Consolidating Roles.

Procedure

...

       1.      In the gallery, select the relevant block or process, and open its design time.

       2.      To switch to edit mode, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text (Edit).

       3.      Open the View Permissions tab page.

       4.      Select an item from the list View Permissions, and check the available roles.

To add a view permission, select a role from the list Available Role, and choose Add.

       5.      Repeat step 3 for all items, for which you want to define view permissions.

       6.      Finally, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text (Save).

Result

At runtime, the process contributors, for whom view permissions have been defined, receive the relevant process item in their inbox. They see the object for display attached to the relevant action, but not the object for execution.
