You must configure the AS Java to:

  • Enable voice applications to access runtime resources such as audio files on the AS Java or any HTTP server

  • Set up a default driver to allow more than one voice application to use a single VoiceXML gateway

  • Establish a connection with a system that contains Web services, if you want to use Web services in your voice applications

  • Establish connections with back-end systems to use the enterprise data in your voice applications

Prerequisites

  • You have set up the SAP NetWeaver Voice system landscape

  • You have installed the voice installable components of the SAP NetWeaver CE

  • You have administrator authorizations to access SAP NetWeaver Administrator (NWA)

  • You have identified the driver number of the third-party VoiceXML gateway that you want to use, if you want more than one voice application to use a default driver

Procedure

  1. Enable voice applications to access runtime resources by setting up a directory structure.

  2. Set up a default driver to allow more than one voice application to access a single voice gateway.

  3. Create users to provide the developers access to the appropriate systems in the system landscape.

  4. If you want to use audio files on an HTTP server other than the server AS Java on which you have deployed your voice application, then create an HTTP connection between the server AS Java and the HTTP server.

  5. If you want to use Web services in your voice application, then create a connection between the AS Java server and a system that has web services.

  6. If you want to use business data in your voice application, then create a connection between the server AS Java and the back-end system that contains the required business data.

  7. If you want to connect to a BI system and generate BI reports on the call-data, then you must create a connection between the SAP NetWeaver Portal and the BI system.
