To use BI queries, query views, and InfoProviders as data sources for your models, you first need to maintain a BI system connection in the Portal of a CE system. To create the system object, use the system object template SAP System.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the J2EE start page at http://<host>:<port>.

  2. Choose SAP NetWeaver Administrator.

  3. Log on with an administrator user.

  4. Choose   Configuration Management   Security Management   Key Storage  .

  5. Click Edit.

  6. Choose TicketKeyStore.

  7. Choose SAPLogonTicketKeypair-cert

  8. Click Export Entry.

  9. Choose the export format Binary X.509.

  10. Download the file.

Importing the J2EE Certificate to the BI Back-End System
  1. Call transaction STRUSTSS02.

  2. Place the cursor over System PSE.

  3. Choose   Certificate   Import  .

  4. Specify the file system location of the J2EE certificate that you previously exported and confirm.

  5. Click Add to Certificate List.

  6. Click Add to ACL.

  7. Specify the system ID of the J2EE Engine and client 000.

You can find the system ID (SID) of the portal on the J2EE Engine start page at http://<host>:<port>. Choose System Information and log on with the administrator user. The SID is displayed in the header.

  8. In the context menu for System PSE, choose Distribute.

  9. Save your entries.

Creating BI Users in the Portal

Ensure that the BI back-end users also exist in the J2EE Engine. You can either use the BI back end as the user store for the J2EE Engine or create the users manually. If you create the users manually, you should ensure that they have the same names as in the BI back end; This avoids the need to configure user assignment.

  2. Choose   System Administration   System Configuration   System Landscape  .
